FALL OF 2014 TO BE A GREAT HUNTING SEASON - BIRDS UP 77%

PHEASANT SEASON OPENS ON OCT. 18TH AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT HUNTING YEAR.  WE HAVE THE BEST PHEASANT HUNTING IN THE REGION BECAUSE YOU WILL HUNT ON PRIVATE LANDS FOR WILD PHEASANTS -- NOT PEN RAISED BIRDS.

OUR LAND HAS CRP, TREE STRIPS, SMALL PATCHES, SOME WATER AND LOTS OF BIRDS.  RIGHT NOW WE ARE PRETTY FULL UP TO THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER BUT HAVE SEVERAL OPENING AFTER THAT.  GENERALLY THE LATER SEASON HUNTING CAN BE BETTER BECAUSE OF THE CROPS BEING HARVESTED SO BIRDS ARE MORE CONCENTRATED ON OUR HUNTING LANDS.

The 2014 Pheasant Season is Coming

After a cold winter with not much snow we have been wondering about bird populations.  Well, it is still up in the air as we keep hearing mixed results.  With many farmers plowing up CRP it is more difficult for pheasants to have a good home and food supply.  I hope the USDA will do something to make it possible for farmers to put some land aside for the birds again.

Last year our hunters all got 2 or 3 birds per day and had overall good luck with Wild Bird pheasants to hunt.  We expect the same again this year and expect to have good hunting on the land we have for you to do some wild bird hunting.  We do have the best hunting ground in the region so you should have a good hunt. Book pretty early so you can reserve the dates you like for your hunt.

HUNTING SEASON IS CLOSE!

It looks like this will be a good year for hunting  Last winter was a very mild winter and the spring hatch was good and a second hatch was also good.  In the next week or so the results of the fall pheasant count will be released.  I suspect it will show significantly more birds that last year.

We are pretty well booked up until the third week of November already.  So if you want to book a hunt it would be a good idea to do it very soon.  Remember, we have private land and wild bird hunting.  Bring your own dogs for hunting, stay in our lodge and do your own cooking.  Rates are going up a little to $175 per day per hunter for hunting, lodging and you can do your own cooking in the full kitchen at the lodge.

Pheasant Season Coming Soon - Get your hunt booked

Before you know it the pheasant hunting season will be starting Oct. 15 and things are looking good! We are already booked for the first two weeks and have a number of bookings after that. You might want to look at our calender to see which dates might be open. This year we are adding hunting on private land with wild bird hunting that you an book through us. We probably have the best prices you can get on this kind of hunting and you will likely get your limit very early. WE will not be hunting the same land over and over as some do, but will only hunt our lands once or twice a week so the birds are not getting up 200 yards in front of you.

If you already have a place to hunt, check out our lodge to stay and do your own cooking in our kitchen. Our hunters are really satisfied both with the hunting and the lodging.

Pheasant Numbers Higher than Last Year

South Dakota is the place to be for great pheasant hunting again this year. Numbers are higher than last year and the hatches have been great! We can help you have a great hunting experience from having a place to stay, a great kitchen to cook in and bird hunting on wild pheasant land.

Spring Hatch of Pheasants looks Great!!

We have had a great spring for hatching of this year's crop of pheasants. If the spring and summer keeps going this way, it will be an awsome hunting season.

Right now we are pretty full from Oct. 16 thru Nov. 5th. If you are interested in coming up or over to hunt please let me know as soon as possible as we are filling up pretty fast this year.

Numbers are going to be very good again this year. Even though we had a lot of snow this year, the birds are having a great hatching season. Expect lots of birds and good hunting.
